Meet the Voice Behind the Mic
Hi — I'm KT, the voice behind Bramble and Bone.
I hold a degree in criminal justice and forensics, and long before I ever picked up a microphone, I was the person reading case files for fun, tracing timelines just to see if they held together, asking too many questions about things everyone else had already moved on from. That instinct never really left me — it just finally found the right outlet.
I'm not originally from Western North Carolina, but this part of Appalachia got under my skin fast after I moved here. There's something about these mountains — the way they hold onto their stories, the way a "holler" carries a history nobody's fully written down — that made this the right place to start telling them properly.
Bramble and Bone started as a way to pour myself into something that mattered, and it's grown into something I genuinely love running — the research, the writing, building out each case file until it feels less like a summary and more like an actual dossier you could hold in your hands. I care a lot about getting the details right, about treating the people at the center of these cases like people, not just plot points in a story.
When I'm not buried in old case files, court records, and newspaper archives, you'll probably find me building out the next dossier, planning Holler Season, or falling down yet another research rabbit hole I didn't mean to start.
Thanks for being here. Pull up a chair — we've got a lot of ground to cover.
